Re: Tyres affect mpg?

I have a spreadsheet in which I record, every time I refuel the car, the date, exact amount of fuel added, the odometer reading and it calculates the mpg for each tank and the cumulative overall mpg since I bought the car. My current 2021 GD 3 with 18" wheels has averaged 51.7 mpg over its 19,9...

Re: Hybrid Cars With 12 volt Lo-ion Battery Integrated with Traction Battery Under the Rear Seat

My 2017 Niro Hybrid had the 12v lead acid battery in the boot - but it also had the vents in the rear seat to get cooling air onto the traction battery.

My present car is a 2021 Niro Hybrid with a 12v lo-ion battery under the rear set as depicted in the video.

Hybrid Cars With 12 volt Lo-ion Battery Integrated with Traction Battery Under the Rear Seat

If your Niro Hybrid does not have a 12 volt battery in the boot - it will have a 12 volt Lo-ion battery alongside the traction battery under the rear seat.

Re: Cruise Control SEt Speed not Displayed

An update on my car not showing the cuise control set speed.

My car went in for its 2 year service and a KIA update yesterday. I had asked them to correct the cruise problem - and they did.

I can now see the cruise set speed in the display.

Re: eNiro Reversing beep

I have the same problem and browsed lots of NIro forums in a number of countries to see if anyone had solved the problem. The only solution I found was a member of the USA Niro Forum posted a way to do it. The dashboard dismantling and wiring mods that are required are way above my bravery and skill...

Re: Door handles

My best mate Google indicates that chrome covers for the new Niro are as rare as hens teeth - as you have undoubtedly discovered. If you find any - they will almost certainly be for LHD cars to serve the USA market where bling is king. I found an advert for black carbon fibre ones from a Chinese tra...

Re: Updating maps

It seems that you need to update the maps in the car. You can do this via the KIA connect app or by using a PC to download the latest head unit and mapping software to a USB memory stick which is inserted in the USB data socket under the dashboard. I have found the USB method more user friendly Conn...

Re: Wing / Door Mirror Glass Replacement, Ouch!

You were lucky it did not damage the housing. On my previous Niro someone unknown hit the drivers door and mirror in a builders merchant's car park when I was away from the car. It must have been a truck reversing. Hit and run. The total repair cost £2291 of which £412 was for the side mirror assemb...

Re: Vampire drain or fault

I don't have an EV but I guess when you first switch the car on in the moring the systems and instruments boot up thus using some energy. Heve you tried making a note of the range, switching the car off, waiting for a couple of minutes before switching it back on again. Then see how much the range d...
