12V battery life
Hi. I have a 2017 Niro 3 hybrid. There's a small 12 volt lead-acid battery in the right rear wing, which I believe is for accessories, etc. and gets topped up by the hybrid battery when the ignition is on/engine running. I managed to discharge it by using a tyre inflator, whilst the ignition was off...

Re: 2017/18 Kia Niro PHEV - P034x camshaft position sensor
Hi. I have a 2017 Niro 3 and had the exact same fault. Dealer replaced one camshaft position sensor and all was good for about 1 week, then fault recurred. Dealer replaced a different camshaft position sensor (apparently there's two) and all has been okay since. All done under warranty. A pain, as t...

Re: MIL & Camshaft Position Sensor
Well that didn't last long. Engine Management Light came on again today and OBD code is P0340, Camshaft Position Sensor. So similar error code and this time the dealer can't take the car in for repair for two weeks.

Re: Updating maps
I updated the map and infotainment system. Follow the instructions on the links above and all was easy. Took about 30 minutes updating the system in the car and a few more minutes for Dab stations to reconnect.

Re: Updating maps
Hi. I have a MY17 Niro HEV and am thinking about updating the map.
How long did it take to update in the car? Also when you copied the files across were there 8 files?
Thanks

Re: MIL & Camshaft Position Sensor
A couple of things I've noticed since the camshaft sensor was replaced: 1. car is more responsive to the throttle (less hesitation), 2. better mpg (I'm consistently getting high 50's to low 60's mpg around town, whereas before I rarely achieved these figures). I haven't taken it on a motorway yet, t...

Re: MIL & Camshaft Position Sensor
Hi. Well the car's been finally fixed. Took a week to get it booked in to my local Kia dealer. They diagnosed the same fault: Camshaft Position Sensor. Took them a week to get the replacement part. Took them a week and a half (with me hassling them) to actually fit it! But all well now and fixed und...

MIL & Camshaft Position Sensor
Hi. My Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), came on whilst driving. I used an ODBR reader and it indicates one fault: Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1 (P0365 & P0366). I've booked the car into the dealer and hopefully this is a simple fix, although they want £126 to diagn...

Re: Range display acting strangely
Well, it looks like small top-ups (6-7 litres) do confuse the 'range' display. Filled up petrol tank and all is well. Thanks.
