Re: Speed camera alerts
Connect by turning on mobile hotspot/tethering on your mobile and this should then give you the speed camera alerts. Check you sat nav by going into settings, navigation, and you should see speed alerts active. As you have the traffic and weather, you must already be connected to wifi. I believe th...

Re: USB
I think the notification is related to the time spent with the key in the ignition and the car stopped, not to the state of battery charge, or the current being drawn....I might be wrong, does anyone have a definitive answer to this?

Re: Foot Parking Brake
I think that the law just relates to dazzling. I don't think the lights are allowed to be bright enough for that. So I don't believe there is any time limit. I also think that the advice from the Institute of Advanced Motorists is all about courtesy, not the law or safety. I might be wrong but..... ...

Re: USB
Thanks for that, John. I clearly didn't have the patience to wait until it turned off. However, Even if it was powered permanently, I think it would take a very long time (probably months) to discharge the battery on the USB charger, as you would only be pulling a couple of watts from it or a small ...

Re: PHEV:- ICE vs EV mileage
This question has come up several times. There is no known way, but I wouldn't completely rule out the possibility that extra information is stored as diagnostics somewhere. However, as NiroAl says, it isn't a case of either/or. You can have the battery driving the wheels and the ICE powering the he...

Re: Foot Parking Brake
In the UK, sitting with your foot on the brake in stationary traffic would appear to in contravention of Highway Code cl 114, and the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989, cl 27. It's also bloody annoying, but that's my opinion, I'm not saying I'm right. I have to admit you have a point. Also, I ...

Re: Colour Options - Niro HEV 4.
I thought it was only the 3 PHEV that has standard adaptive cruise, the 3 HEV it is optional You are absolutely right. I misread the spec sheet  The latest specs and options lists - including those for the e-Niro can be found towards the end of this brochure: https://www.kia.com/content/dam/k...

Re: Best and Worst Thing About Your Niro
.apart from the tom tom,,it sends me loads of weird and wonderfull ways Agreed. It isn't even anything to do with out-of-date maps. So for example, most people going from Chorleywood to Watford would take the A404 and A412, if they don't take the M25, and A411. TomTom insists that I should turn off...

Re: Clear White vs. White Pearl. What's the difference ?
My previous car (DS5) was pearlescent white. When clean, and in the sun, it was stunning. Far more classy than either a solid white, or a metallic finish. If the paint on the Niro is anything like the paint on the DS, then I don't think you will be disappointed with it. A few years ago, I was told by...

Re: USB
John, forgive me for asking but why does the USB power prevent you from leaving your iPod plugged in? At least you'd know it would be fully charged when you return to the car? Radio stays on while you sit in car listening to radio with ignition off while wife is shopping, to preserve battery The ign...
