Re: Starting without pressing the break pedle

Yes I did thanks, but I don't fancy modifying the bulb cover, which I assume is the cap that screws onto the back of the housing and seals it.

Re: Bulb upgrade

Thanks for the link. I might be safer going for one of those halogen bulbs that claims 20% - 50% extra brightness.

Bulb upgrade

As winter approaches and daylight time shortens, my commuting time is in the dark and I always feel that standard bulbs are not very bright. Has anyone upgraded their dipped beam bulbs to a brighter bulb or converted to LED bulbs? I have a Niro 3.

Re: Hesitation when accelerating

When going from braking to acceleration quickly e.g. roundabout, the car can be slow to accelerate. Getting use to the lag, but not ideal. Regards the Lexus hybrid auto, it’s not like the old belt drive of the Daf, it’s done by gears, not belt and cones and the IS300h never had any transmission lag.

Re: User Satisfaction

Since posting and having commuted a couple of days, I'd agree with you. It's acceptable in all areas. Suspension is more comfortable than the Lexus. The biggest gripe for me with the Niro is the clutch/drive train. It just doesn't feel smooth, but the car cruises fine at 70-80mph on the motorway, wh...

Re: User Satisfaction

I bought a 2017 Niro 3 in July and it’s my 3rd hybrid. Had a Toyota Prius for 4 years: great car, regularly over 60mpg, great boot space and rear leg room. Cheap cabin plastics though. Comfortable and easy to drive. Then I had a Lexus IS300h Exec. for 2 years. Loved this car. Plenty of instant power...

Re: Hesitation when accelerating

Another poster, Greenman, listed an ECU update and another couple. I showed the dealer when I took my car along for the recall. The dealer said they updated the software.

Re: Hesitation when accelerating

Got recall letter and also asked garage to check software versions. They replaced clutch actuator and did the software upgrades and throttle and clutch are far better and the car drives more smoothly. A vast improvement. However still not as good as my previous Lexus IS300h.

Re: Tyre issues

I have a 3 with 18" wheels and not had a problem so far. The pronounced ridge is to protect the alloy wheels when you clip a kerb.
