Re: PHEV recall items - outcomes

I've finally sorted the "knocking" sound from the rear of my Niro PHEV. I phoned my local Kia dealer yesterday and they suggested I contact Kia Roadside Assistance first as it's less than a year old. I did and within half an hour the RAC had turned up outside my house. Half an hour after t...

Re: High beam assist

Sorry, but no - at least not on the PHEV Niro which is the "3". At the other end of those headlights though it does have automatic dimming for the rear view mirror which is handy when someone drives up behind you with their main beams still on! :-)

Re: PHEV OR HEV? High Mileage

Wow, that's a lot of miles. 164 per day on average. Dare I say that a full EV like the eNiro will be much more cost effective? Easily covers the daily range (250ish motorways I think). Tops up quickly at rapid charger. About a quarter of the cost per mile and lower if you have a good off-peak electr...

I've just noticed that the answer to my question this evening appears to be in a different thread; "PHEV recall items - outcomes ".

Re: PHEV recall items - outcomes

Thanks for posting folks. It appears I have the same "knocking" sound. It looks like I need to give the dealer a call then... :-(

Re: Tailgate Rattle

I've had a rattle for a month or two now and wondered if it might be the same as Dennis10 describes, but I don't think it is. I've driven up and down my driveway with the boot open and still get the same sound. I've removed all the boot area flooring / covering leaving the battery exposed and I stil...

Re: TPMS issues in cold weather

I've had the same issue for a couple of weeks, and yes, it started in the cold weather. The passenger-side pressures are 33 and 34 and there's no warning. The driver-side pressures and 34 and 33, but they are both warning me they are low. I'll give them another few PSI tomorrow and see if they go aw...

Re: Charging PHEV

According to Tesla's website, chargers with white signs are open to all electric cars. Red signs are for Teslas only.

I've never seen one so can't comment from experience.

Re: EV mileage and noise

@Neil

I notice the petrol range goes down and back up sometimes - just two or three miles at most so it may partly be sensor readings. I do have the PHEV though so I notice that more as I'm nearly always driving on battery and no heater (heated seat and steering wheel instead).

Re: Unable to charge and Check Hybrid System warning

I had the problem again this morning and finally got around to making a short "how to fix it" video that I've just uploaded to YouTube here:
