Engine cuts out when brakes applied

Hi All

Can anybody help me how to stop the engine cutting out when I apply the brakes its really annoying and I cant see where to turn it off

Hi Gino1951,

IMO this can only be a malfunction. I suggest taking the car to the dealer / certified Kia garage for inspection.

A puzzling one, but why do you think something is wrong.. Assuming you're talking about a hybrid, the petrol engine shuts off / restarts by design. It's hardly noticeable and virtually inaudible usually. What is happening that is so annoying, is the car jerking or what? Has it just started happening? If you have a HEV, there is no facility for switching off engine shut down. Can you explain more clearly what is happening.

I did not realise that it was a standard feature of the car as with other makes there is a facility to turn off engine shutdown, however now that I know that it is an inherent feature of the car, I can get on with the rest of my life
