The fourth generation Kia Niro has been caught on camera without any sort of disguise.
This is by far our best look at Kia's all-new compact crossover as a pre-production prototype was recently filmed performing final testing rounds and as you can see it was camo-free. The video comes only a day after Kia released a trio of teaser images of its new Niro which will be based on the new generation Hyundai Tucson.
We only get to see the rear end and side profile which both look significantly sportier compared to the outgoing model while from yesterday's teaser we learned the front end will also be a major departure compared to the outgoing model and is set to employ a lower tiger nose grille, aluminum underbody protection and reshaped headlights incorporating LED ice cube daytime running lights which will likely be available only on the upper-spec versions.
Kia Niro rear end spied without any camouflage
Up until now, Niro has been the name assigned to Kia’s 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show concept car, and widely thought would be used on the production car that’ll do battle with the Nissan Juke and replace Kia’s aging Venga compact MPV in 2018. However, bosses have deemed the name to be more suitable for its first ever hybrid crossover.
