Hi,
I think I got myself a lemon car.
Bought my Kia Niro EV SG2 Vision on 1.11.22.
- 7.8.24: „Refill coolant for battery system“. Spare Part not available for whole Germany as stated by my Kia dealer. Have to add water sporadically for driving since then.
- Since July: clunking noise coming from front wheel area. Getting louder. Kia dealer cannot find root cause.
- Since September: squeaking gas pedal
- 28 September: spare part for cooling system got delivered last week. Had the car for repairs by the Kia dealer. Next day, he called and told me that they cannot repair because of missing tools etc. to remove the battery and reattach. They have to order these, but told me they also are not deliverable by Kia and can take weeks again to arrive. 3 days later I got a new error message “error battery management system”.
Planning to change the Kia dealer on Monday as last resort. No trust left for this one.

Good luck!
Below (part of) letter sent to Service Manager of Kia Bournemouth.
I just wanted to keep you informed of a problem i am having with the above car.
i hoped it was my SYNC EV charger, but apparently the car is not happy either.
The problem is that when I charge, normally to 80% it cuts out after 30-40 minutes. The longer I go on making it charge the shorter time it accepts a charge, finally lasting only ONE minute!
original fault caused by power spike of 254 Volts, subsequent fails caused by car refusing to accept charge.
All help to ameliorate the problem asap, would be most gratefully received, as you can imagine it is most inconvenient.
kind regards,
