Hi,
I have a 24 plate bev Niro charging via an Ohme unit at home.
Lately, on plugging in, the Ohme app tells me there's no communication, assumes my car has 0% charge and will charge accordingly.
I've tried deleting the Ohme app and using the Kia App to charge. Unfortunately the car seems to ignore the timings I've set (off peak hours) and will charge randomly at will, ie during the higher cost periods. So not ideal!

Could it be a fault with the charger cable, the charger unit or the car itself?

Anyone else had a similar problem?

It might be that your charger is not communicating with the web.
Have you tried not using either app and just plugging in?
I have found that worked in the past, although I do not have an Ohme.
Another thing to check is if you have had the latest software installed in the car. Mine was only weeks over the previous year out of date and my eNiro starting playing silly b*ggers. Cutting off the charge way before the charge was completed. It took the dealer ages to find the problem, but once software was updated all charging problems disappeared.
Good luck.

I've tried deleting the Ohme app and used the Kia App instead but that caused it to charge at random times. I reinstalled Ohme and it seemed to work at 1st but then it failed again. If I deleted both apps I'd have to plug in at 11.30 at night and be back out at 05.30 to unplug!
Thanks for your suggestions , I may just have take it to the dealer and see what they have to say.

At 23-30 (Or earlier)Turn the charger off at the circuit breaker, connect the car, then at 23.30 turn circuit breaker on. By 05.30 the car s should be fully charged so no need to get up and turn the circuit break off.
Just a thought.

I haven't had that exact issue, but I've heard of similar problems with smart chargers and EVs. It's tough to say for sure what's causing it, but it could be any of those things you mentioned. Maybe try a different charging cable first, since that's the easiest thing to test.

I've cured it!

I switched off the charger at the circuit breaker, waited 15min and rebooted.

It is now behaving itself 🙂
