Can I override the boot alarm?

I have a new Kia Niro HEV (2022) and if the boot is not shut properly, the car will not drive (at all!) and an alarm sounds. This is clearly a safety feature but I need to transport a large, long load to the dump. Does anyone know if I can override this feature, just long enough so I can drive a few miles with it tied shut instead. Thanks

The only alarm cancellation I know about is to cancel the internal sensors (I have a dog), The dealer didi it through the infotainment system, but I am not sure how exactly.
Is yours the old shape Like Mine (2021) or the new. 2022 is right on the changeover between models.

Thanks Colin - mine is the new 2022 model. None of the team at the local dealer know how to do it and they're escalating it up the chain! I'm all for safety but there has to be a bit of leeway for practicality too. I'll see if I can find a link to the sensors somewhere.

I've just heard back from the main dealership and Kia have said that there is no way to override the boot safety alarm system. Grrr!

Look what I found via Google. Perhaps you might like to send it to your dealer if it works and show them how to do things they should know.
I think their inability to do it is appalling. If you have another Skoda nearby i would change dealer if I was in your shoes.
